Description

Estrquats, which are quaternary ammonium compounds with two long fatty acid chains (C(16)-C(18)) with 2 weak ester bonds, represent a new generation of fabric softening agents that replace dialkyldimethylammonium salts ( such as DTDMAC and DSDMAC). . The incorporation of ester linkages into aliphatic chains has significantly improved the biodegradation kinetics of cationic surfactants and reduced environmental exposure levels. This new generation of fabric softener combines good environmental properties with the structural properties required for an effective fabric softener.

Synthesized esterquats were evaluated in terms of yield percentage and cation content. Physical and chemical properties were evaluated with different tests such as sensory panel test, water absorption capacity and heat stability on different fabric layers, artificial and natural. It is further determined by the IR curing time and generally, the quats are mostly solid and wear should be done around the unlimited melting point and decompose in five minutes to heat the softener. Lower molecular weight quats are effective and economical. This solution in tetramethyl-water should provide softness, fluffiness and ammonium chloride (1), while imparting psychosolubilization to treated fabrics, reducing polar solvent reduction and increasing static build-up. The first fabric was developed in non-polar solvent by increasing the softeners for the textile molecular weight of the early quaternary ammonium compound (>C10) (1-3).

What is sterquat?

How to make straquat?

A process for producing esters comprising the steps of: (1) reacting a glycerol fatty acid ester and a hydroxy-functionalized tertiary amine in the presence of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal borohydride, an alkaline earth metal borohydride, and a combination thereof; (2) reaction.
Is glycerin a surfactant?

Glycol and glycerol esters are a group of nonionic surfactants that are composed of fatty acid esters of glycols and glycerol. Hydrophobic properties predominate and these compounds are poor emulsifying agents when used alone, although they are useful stabilizers for oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions.
