Emitting 33% less CO2 than coal, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is the lowest carbon conventional fuel available to off-grid Britain and is increasingly becoming a viable and favourable choice for consumers and businesses without access to mains gas.

As a clean, lower carbon energy source, liquefied petroleum gas is automatically generated during the production of methane during the refining process. LPG exists in two forms – propane and butane – with both being more naturally suited to different uses.

Dimethyl ether (C2 H6O) – known as DME, is already used extensively across the globe, mainly in industrial settings. It is a colourless gas that is chemically similar to butane and propane and like liquefied petroleum gas, it is easy to handle and store in liquid form.
